3D Design High School Course
BIG IDEA - IDENTITY
Characteristics of the Learner
As a yearlong curriculum for an Intermediate 3D Design High School Art class, each quarter addresses elements of what shapes our identity and how we express it. Each quarter builds on the previous and is all brought together in the final quarter. The student in a 3D Design class will have had at least 1 or more years of High School art. In those years they have been exposed to a variety of artists, media, techniques, vocabulary and processes. While students have had exposure they are still developing their skill. In the 3D Design art class, the yearly curriculum is based on a theme. This theme allows students to make connections between art, academics and their personal world.
As a 3D Design class students will be learning about, and creating sculptural art works. Students will utilize drawing, individual and group inquiry and discussion, media experimentation and application in the planning, construction and self-evaluation stages of their sculptures.
